Am I alone in not seeing what the fuss is about regarding GMIV. Chichester himself (and I have read his books) didn't like the boat and was really disappointed in how she sailed for single handed sailing.
He didn't seem to hold much sentimental affection for her afterwards, and to my mind it was the man not the boat that should be celebrated.
I think that the money raised and spent on her restoration could have been spent on much better projects.
Maybe I am not alone as when I have done boatshows with her there the interest hasn't seemed hugely overwhelming.
