Almost certainly been a thread on here before - any idea's? If it hasn't, in a nutshell:

Intending to sort satellite TV on the boat, not sure of decoder yet (ie Sky or not Sky) but was interested if anyone had any experience with the Kerstan mini dish that seems to be the norm?

Cheers folks!

PS what a blimmin lovely weekend! Reminds me why I spend all that time and money on the thing.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Kerstan dish and kit for sale.

Works just fine if the boat is stable, i.e. moored without much wind. Has a large retaining pad which I put on top of the radar scanner when moored up.

Since I moor up sometimes on swinging moorings I finally went for a Raymarine dish which works well but different price bracket. So even swinging over 90 degrees no problem and picture rock solid.

The fixed dish is always worth a try at first since it is cheap.

In a similar vein - has anyone installed the digital yacht system yet? (This is the low-profile £1600 dish launched at LIBS this year). I know lots of people with the Raymarine dishes, and they get on well with them - but I'd really like to hear some first-hand experiences with the digital yacht system.

Cheers
Jimmy

Thank you folks!

Yeah, Raymarine good, bank balance bad, hence Kerstan option!

Aviator, do you still have the pole mount adaptor and which decoder do you have..?

Feel an offer coming here...
