We’ve been using one on board for the last year, quite good and easy to use, sometimes a bit slow but reliable and SWMBO finds it easy

Thanks, that's the kind of simple answer I need, GHA forgets the bits he quite happily plays with are way outside my level of expertise - thanks anyway Paddy.:)

Graham, it's actually very easy to get up and running, easier than loading the various progs onto windows as everything is preinstalled for you. Come have a play next time you're down.

Don't expect speed but it should be reliable and useable if you add a keyboard and mouse, either bluetooth or USB. The latter will take one of the USB ports but allow you a decent full size keyboard. The big advantage is that you take all your data with you and leave nothing behind on the boat. I decided I needed more storage and a bit more power and went for putting the operating system on an external SSD which I carry to the boat and plug into a Gigabyte Brix PC which has no internal drive fitted.
With a PC on a stick a USB splitter to take low current devices like the Keyboard and mouse transmitter and a GPS dongle will be useful.

Thanks Norman. At the moment, downloaded films on external disc plug into the TV usb but, if we're streaming films or UK TV, have to connect the computer to TV with HDMA cable. Just thought that one of these plug in computers will save having to use the computer to TV, saving power and also provide a backup pc. Will defer decision about buying until I've seen GHA's Raspberry.
