Visited Weston Bay YC this week. Sailed through torrential rain on the way over ,the type that flattens the waves and makes the sea hiss ,awesome rain. Arrived in the Axe in brilliant sunshine and blue sky. Chatted with WBYC members both by the river then later in the Dolphin. Very pleasant day.despite the earlier wetting.

Sail back was great Wind from astern slipping along nicely at 5 knots and no rain. :-)

Back at CBYC a guy I hadnt met before came across and helped me get the engine off which was greatly appreciated as its an awkward job and heavy enough that you need to be carefull, thanks Andy .

You really are having a run of bad luck, eh Graham?

No not at all. As Chris says she is a beautifull shape for a ship.Certainly easier on the eye than the big car transporters.Only had to alter course for 5 minutes to go round the stern.

Outboard bracket is now far stronger than when new and back on the boat .

Well, I reckon that if your luck was in, it would have been carrying beer.......

I think the Guinness is brewed in the UK now ,Guinness ships dont run anymore as far as I know.I wonder if the crews found a way of syphonin g a bit out? :-)

For a number of years now Guinness has only been brewed in Dublin. Indeed they used to say that in one of their advertising campaigns. I may be wrong but I think all draught Guinness now arrives in road tankers and lorries full of kegs.
