We did really well in Qingdao(Olympic test regatta)
5 Golds,1 silver,2 fith places,a sixth an eleventh & a twelth.
Ben Ainslie & the girls in the Yngling won again.Looks like Shirley Robertson will miss out.
I am glab my RYA subs help the cause.Well done to all our sailors.
Bet there won't be much reporting in the press.

Not taking anything from the sailors, one of them is my friend. It is wrong that this and the Olympics happens in China for the time being, the Chinese dictatorship is a brutal genocidal machine that need to be stopped! Not saying we are much better but current track record for the Chinese is disgusting!

Whilst I tend to agree with your view the fact remains it is going to happen. The big plus is that there will be huge numbers of visiting journos, athletes and spectators, the media coverage will be immense and something of the free world's attitudes may impinge on sectors of the general population. Sometimes exposure to other cultural norms can be a very effective in modifying peoples views and it could work both ways.

Anyway, the team did do very well, all credit to them.

It always disappoints me that the Western economies are so willing to cosy up to China. It seems that everybody is quite willing to turn a blind eye to what China is up to as long as there is some money in it for us.
To me China has a revolting, corrupt government that abuses it's own citizens. Anything seems to go there as long as some dough is passed along, the rich and powerful are government sponsored. Any country that farms condemned criminals for donor organs is the pits.
