Struggling a bit here.

The drive shaft that comes off the injector pump is 9/16" dia and has a woodruff key. The water pump has a 5/8" dia drive shaft that has a flat to lock against a grub screw. I need to marry the two up. I've searched the internet and found lots of couplings, both spider and Oldham types and have emailed several companies, with no response! Had an online chat with Nick at RS comps all to no avail.

Without a coupling the boat is dead. Any thoughts??

Just had a thought. Providing the O/D is big enough I can get the holes drilled locally.

This is an Oldham type coupling. :o

Have tried 'ondrives'?
I would expect you'll have to get pilot bores machined out to size locally.

Can you take up the slack between the 5/8" coupling hole and the 9/16" woodruff keyed shaft with a 1/32" shim wrapped around the unslotted section of shaft and possibly a larger woodruff key? A bit rough and ready but should get you back on the water if it's snug (tight!!!) fit.

Thanks, but no. The original connection was a piece of 2" reinforced hose with a jubilee clip at each end. I don't want to do anything but a 100% reliable fix. I've got access to a friendly machine shop if I can find blank bosses, it's just easier if I can just 'buy' the thing ready made. ;)

Is this a ford engine (2710) with a drive, what about the coupling from the Wabco air brake pump and steering pump on the road vehicles

The engine is actually a 1950 Coventry CDB 4 cylinder diesel. The coupling pictured above will completely fix the problem providing I can get the right size. It's a supplier I need. Though I intend to find the part you've mentioned to see if it is similar and can be modified to fit. As I said, I am looking for a 100% fix. Thanks for the reply. Stu :)
