Having mounted a couple of smallish cannon on the boat complete with ball and powder along with the recommended couple of hundred metres of shorepower cable,Sarah T is ready to go.
Laptop navigation along with auto pilot and radar has been tested for those long bits tween Teddington and Penton Hook, but have decided to take a chance and not hire 10 place artic survival type liferaft.Assuming that vast pile of A4 advice and internet info on bankside pubs will keep boat afloat.Apart from still awaiting invite for burger and beer from owner of big castle at Windsor,we will be setting off regardless on early thursday ebb to arrive at St Kats around lunchtime. Then following day up a bit further and hope to spent Sat night at one of the MDL marinas to take up a very kind offer by member of aforemention outfit........
Ps all dependant on Wx forecast of course ,me being bit cowardly custard in the big horrid nasty waves off Southend dept..

You sound well prepared,/forums/images/icons/wink.gif
But do you have the good pub guild for the river, and a large ball fender to fend off other boats with in the narrow bits or hit people over the head with if they get to close, accidentally of course/forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

[Oh and I have been told a water pistol is a must]/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

In that case I shall probably crash into you then. I am putting my boat in at Lechlade and coming downstream at about the same time. Could somebody post a hazard to navigation warning please! Ta.

Just an interim bulletin to confirm that our intrepid explorer has been sighted alive and well and, having reached Windsor on Saturday night is now on his way back downstream. Thanks for your company Fred and it was good to meet you, swmbo, sarah and ben. Hope we will see you back up this way again before too long.
Here they are about to pass under Windsor Bridge this morning:
