Further to my thread yesterday of actually how to wire them up i have another issue.

The boat has a dataline system and the instrument displays are knackered. So i got a job lot off ebay. I have wind, gps, speed, depth, central and compass.

I can however only fit 4!!

Irritatingly the information you can display is fixed.

Mainly for club racing.

Would be nice to have log speed, depth, sog, wind speed and direction and vmg. But I don't think I can display these all at the same time!

So I think I will leave the gps display off (sog) as I can get that off iregatta on my phone.

Therefore I would have

Speed (log)
Depth
Central showing vmg and aws i think
Wind

Any better ideas??

I suppose if the central shows wind speed i could live without the wind instrument as i have a windex? Then i could have the gps display? Hmmmm

Wind Instrument can display wind Direction with the needle, plus various options in its 'speed' LCD, including WS Apparent, WS True & VMG. It also has a 'Trim' function for windward work.
Central can show almost all info available from Speed (Log), Depth & Wind sensors.
A race start countdown function is also available on Central (& Log I think)

A Dataline DS (dual display unit showing Seed & Depth) was also available.

I have Dataline SD & Wind only, the Dataline GPS being replaced with a Raymarine e7 plotter

FYI, if your Dataline Databox has a serial number ending in 40 or greater, the Simrad IS11 display instruments are compatible.

Dataline Manuals available FOC from here: http://www.stowemarine.com/information.htm

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I think i am going to go with speed, depth, central and wind. I don't have the dual one. I must have the largest collection of clapped out displays in the country!

So no sog, but as i said above i can get that on my phone.
