Old Status Raw Water Pump Not Running

Hello,

I have Status (Mitsubishi?) Diesel engine from 1980s in my boat and the raw water pump stopped running. Its Johnson pump.

Ive never opened such a pump and it looks weird for me and i cant manage to make the pump shaft to rotate anymore while engine is running.

How should it be connected to the machine end? Is this shaft broken from machine end? or that bearing broken from inside of engine ? See the pictures attached.

It appears to be a conventional way of driving a shaft using a cross-piece. The shafts have to be pushed together in the right orientation so that the bar and the valley mesh with each other. They can probably be installed 180 degrees either way.

If the shaft is not meshing then the orientation is wrong or something has pushed the shaft out so it no longer meshes and it needs to be pushed in so that it engages.
