Old Simrad Plotter CP33..Question

Can the chart chip cards be updated/reprogrammed ?.
Chip in plotter is for N Wales .....not much good when you boat in the Thames estuary !.
Will we have to cough up for a new chart. ?

with my old Raymarine gear you wandered into a dealer handed over your card and a minor kings ransome and walked out with a new chart.

Think they take the CMap nt+ cards so should be easy to find a suitable one, or get yours updated.

Alternatively, the best update would be to unbolt the CP33 and send it into the Medway mud. Then simply bolt a new simrad/garmin/raymarine unit in its place :D

How come I never thought of that. :)
Now spoken to Simrad outlet.
I can buy new local chart for about £99.00 or get my existing chip upgraded for only £78.00, all plus VAT and postage of course
How come if we go to Visit My Harbour, you can buy a complete set of charts for the entire UK for about £29.50.
Actually, already have one laptop with this system and inherited a second with new boat.

time for a rummage on Ebay.
