Hi All

this is my first posting, but thought it worth bringing to everyones attention

I recent read "The Art of Coarse Sailing" by Michael Green

I just wish it was 230 pages not 130 pages as it made me chuckle from start to finish. The book is over 40 years old but just goes to show that nothing has changed in that time.

A great read would recomend it to anyone

Regards to all

The good news is there was a later follow up "The Art of Coarse Cruising", not the Broads but coastal stuff, & not quite as good.

But what happened to M Green & why doesn't he write anymore? Only 2 books in the autobiography when it said there were to be more - this many years ago. A thread on uk rec sailing newsgroup some years ago seemed to conclude he was still alive, but just not writing anymore.

If you like the humour there's lots more in the Art of Coarse ..... series. Several on rugby, Moving (made into a TV series), Acting, Sex, Office Politics, etc.

(please somebody tell me I'm wrong! Love to read more!)

Try charity shops. I just found a 1st Ed Alker Tripp for 50p. Great read and they are selling on the web for up to £65!

I am resurrecting an old thread in case anybody is still looking for a copy of The Art of Coarse Sailing by Michael Green. I work as a volunteer for the local hospice charity shop and we have a copy for sale.
The copy is the hardback 4th impression 1963 and is good condition.
PM me if you are interested.
