OLD BMC1.5/ Thornycroft T90 gearbox adjustments

Hello All,
I have recently bought a 29ft bay cruiser powered by a BMC 1.5/ Thornycroft T90 diesel engine. The attached gearbox is not operating correctly. There is no dipstick that I can see. I have changed the oil using 2 litres of 20W40 oil. I can adjust the gearbox to get forward and neutral but no reverse. Or I can adjust it to get a sort of grinding very ordinary reverse and neutral. The gearbox is branded Morris. Please see slidezoner photo's to help identify the gearbox. I cant find any manuals online. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
