Any advice/ideas please?
I inherited an old Raymarine Autohelm 800 with Bulli. It looks all in very well kept order but the little plastic drive cog (6 or 7 mm diam) that fits on the electric motor and drives the whole thing through a rubber belt is broken. the motor goes when I press the buttons, so I think otherwise its ok.
I already contacted Raymarine service but they told me that the cogs are like rocking horse poo poo, and that the design was changed ages ago and the moulds were made specifically for the part and have died.
I thought that as this sounds like a common problem maybe as a last chance saloon someone here could have an idea?
I tried sticking it together (dad knows a plastics firm and they used 'proper' glue) but it didn't work (pressure fit onto shaft, split again straight away), I wasn't too happy about that approach anyway.
Its a shame to throw it away because of just that little, if essential, part.
