OK I Promissed photo\'s

All look a bit tame really. Course I was not taking photo's whilst the drama was going on. Far more important things to do. Might have looked better if they had got the big life boat out. But as it happened the little one was far quicker and saved the day with it's little petrol pumps, till we reached the pontoon and a bigger pump awaiting.

Photo's a bit mixed up. Read, 2, 1, 3.

Hardly looks a big deal, put this way. I have more photo's on vidio, but obviously taking photo's was not the main concern, just something to do once everyone else had taken over. Interestingly, Debs got in her grab bag, the cameras, mobile phones and chargers, a bottle of whiskey and brandy.

Finally got the BIG pump that could keep up with the flow. Besides the RNLI really wanted to get back on station as soon as they could. There was talk of just letting the boat go to the bottom, but apparently polution regulations avoided that.

Yes, there was nothing else to be done. The life boat men had done there best to save everything, including the carpet, newly fitted. The life boats big pump was down there doing it's job. Which only took one or two blokes to look after. Yes there were loads of on lookers and gorpers, many getting in the way to take photo's.

I took a few photos, when i could do nothing else, from away.. But the folk barging in among the life boat crew to goggle were sickening.

Dont forget, these photo's were all taken after the event. When things were under some sort of control. Yes there was never any real panic. The life boat met us, half way into Salcolme, they had been made aware of the problems. I had a rib alongside all the time, it was not life threatening as it happened. Just the boat. Two petrol pumps off the inshore life boat, plus M F's two pumps, were hardly keeping up. The life boat big pump was just about keeping up, till the fire brigade turned up with more pumps.

Yes we were all chewing the cud at the time. Mainly everything that could be done was. Just needed a crane and driver.

Re: OK I Promissed photo\'s

nah, didn't get all that in the bag, got quite a bit in, afterall I was at the back of the boat ready to get off & clearing away stuff so the lifeboat men, who were TRULY EXCELLENT, could get in to the Lazerette, as I knew thats where the water would go next.

What was really funny was when the boat was out on chocks, in basically the car/boat park, we could hear people saying "thats the boat they had the emergency in, gosh look at that hole", not realising we were on board, then the dog would bark at them and make them jump. The dog thought it was great.
