Oil Price Plummets!

Welcome the change in pump prices, although Diesel is still around £1.10 Ltr.
However based on exchange rate fluctuation and the current Barrel price it should be down to around 85p ltr!....we should be so fortunate.

Goes up on the day! comes down by the month!... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just out of interest, can anyone remember what we were paying for red diesel in the marinas when crude was last at this level. Be interesting to do a comparison.

I reckon oil is down to the price it was in the summer of 2007 - when red was around 43p/litre or so. There's been an additional 2p/litre tax since then. Adding that extra 2p/litre (+vat) and making it 60/40 would yield a price of around 71.6p/litre.

(Oh, ignoring the fact that dollar is stronger today than back in 2007).

Makes you think though, doesn't it?

The story on the news was that a little independent garage in South Wales set the price under £1, and by a bit of chinese whispers all the big fuel suppliers thought they were being undercut by competitors, and reduced their prices as well.

The Belgian PM proposed his budget to the parlaiment this week. The press found out that he "forgot" to mention one measure: when the oil price decreases, the price at the pump will only go down by half the decrease, the rest goes to the treasury. When the price rises, it will rise fully. Thieving scro@ts!
