Hi how do i fit an oil pressure gauge to my 6hp petter diesel?. and how warm should the cooling water be coming out of the pipe going into the exhust bend(it hasnt got a temp gauge either] at the moment the exit water is very cool. the cylinder head is hot to touch after normal running. thanks chris.

If the mini-six is the same as the mini-twin in this respect (which I susspect it is), there is no thermostat and the engine therefore always runs rather cool. What you describe is my experience with my mini-twin; cylinder head quite hot (although not too hot to keep your hand on it), but water rather cool (about 30 degrees I would say). I therefore assume this is normal for these engines and is as they were designed. Cannot help with the oil pressure sensor, but on the mini-twin it is located at the bottom left (looking aft) at the rear of the crankcase.

Thanks for that, the mini six is identical to the twin but only has one pot, i suspected they are cool runners, as to the oil pressure i think you are right it uses a pressure switch connected to the alternater relay so when you have oil pressure the switch kicks in and you get chargeing, then the battery charge doesnt escape through the alternater when the engine is idle, i think.
Chris.
