oil in uj bellows

servicing my two Volvo AD31DP outdrives (DP-E) and found approx 1 egg cup full of oil in each UJ bellows. That suggests to me a faulty oil seal. But in both bellows?....both seals? The units have covered 350 hours only. Could it be that its expected some oil will transgress past seals? Anyone had a similar experience?

Is it posible that someone had put that oil in there to keep the uj's lubed and protected from surface rust? or do you do all your own servicing?

It's possible both drives were over filled at the previous service, or someone got bit over enthusiastic lubing up the UJ.
Either that, or both input shaft seals have decided to leak at the same time.

I do all my own sevicing,and last changed the bellows two years ago. I certainly would not introduce oil into the rubber bellows. However it may well be I did overfill drives.
