OIL GRADE LISTER PETTER AC2W

Hi all

Ive seen online Petter recommend an oil grade of 15-40 for the old AC2W engines, could i get away with a different grade of oil?, i have stacks of 0-40,0-30, 5-30 oil at my disposal
Any advice would be appreciated

No. Those low viscosity oils are designed for hardened crankshafts. Using them in an old marine engine will inevitably lead to journal wear. Also perhaps cam and tappet wear also, although I do not know the detail of their production in these engines
