I recon I must have store my Suzuki 2.something 4 stroke on the wrong side. Would this lead to oil from the exhaust? Haven't run it snide being on its wrong side, will I have caused any damage and what should I do?

I dont think it will have caused any damage but attempting to run it might.

Clamp it upright.

Turn on the fuel and allow the carb to fill. Turn off the fuel and drain the carb to remove any oil that found its way in there.

Clean out any oil there may be in the air intake silencer

Remove the spark plug & clean off any oil. Cover the hole with a rag and pull the engine over several times to expel any oil that's in the cylinder.

Refit the plug.

Top up the lube oil to the correct level

Mount it in the test tank and start it in the normal way.

Probably all unnecessary. Just check that it can turn over freely through two revolutions.
Top up the oil and start it up in the test tank.

If it wont start then do as first suggested

If it was stored wrong way round, dont start it. Take the spark plug off and turn the engine (a lot) by pulling the cord to ensure that there is no oil inside the cylinder; clean the plug and put it back; check the carburetor to make sure that oil has not gone inside, drain it if need. Check the oil level and top up if need. Now it is safe to start.

It'll still smoke like a bugger for a minute or so. But that's harmless as long as you have got the excess oil out of the cylinder as suggested previously.

You must lay it on the handle side. If you lie it on the other side the oil goes out of the crank breather in to the air intake and the motor will hydraulic.
Even leaving it on the right side, oil goes past the rings and fills the cylinder.
Take the plug out, wizz it over a few times to get the oil out, replace the plug, check the oil level and then give it a go. It will smoke like mad for a min or two and then clear.
Ask me how I know!
