Oil filters, all the same??

People were asking about oil filters a little while ago, I knew I had this link just couldn't find it. Now found.

I tend to go for the Purelators. A good filter with a lot of surface area for its physical size. Ask B1 what he thinks of them. He's just had a shed load off me. The ones for your vovlo's in the Draco are the same as the ford pinto fitments.

The fuel filters are good as well. Loads of surface area for the size. Not hugely expensive either. The oil filter for the boat works out at about £2 and the fuel filter B1 uses is the same price including all the seals for the head and bowl.

Well done Barry that answers a question I was going to ask!
Not had time to work on it recently due to various family issues. Might even end up p....pa...paying for someone to do it, their I said it.
Just brought Alfa 156SW 2.4 JTD as day to day transport, now thats prospective boat engine, 5 pot 2.4 litre 150BHP and huge amounts of torque.......

Is that the same as the Vee Dub engine, well Audi. Nearly got that Volvo/VW diesel I was working on finished......sort of. Played about with a MIG and got the exhaust manifold made up. A'la Volvo b23 set up with wet exhaust. The last bit of sorting is the starter its on the wrong bluddy side of the engine!

Back to the filters. My second choice is Fram. Good flow rate still retaining good filtration. Go for the orange Frams though. The black ones are made by Redhouse automotive and just badged. Not as good IMHO. Cut one of each open and see the difference in the cores.
