Planning to return to, say, Falmouth from the Azores. Wuld it be better to set off from Horta? Or from Terceira....? Or.....

Best to set off from either where your boat is, or the airport.

Is it worth moving the boat from where it is to some other port before departure?
Probably not unless a shakedown sail makes you happy.
If you depart and find you need something from shore, then declaring the next port a better jumping off point is entirely fair.

I think most things you might need can be got in Horta, so it's as good a departure point as any?
