Oh what have we done to deserve this, midsummers day looming and all we get is yet more wind and rain.

The weather map however does look good for the Med, now who do we know who keeps a boat there big enough to accomodate an entire forum? <BG>

Freeloader, requesting LJS approval

Entirely agree LJS. I intend to spend next week in important business meetings. These will be in the med, on 2 Viarregio built numbers. First few days on a 34m sloop in Antibes, then I'll catch up with TCM who has kindly offered a ride on the boat that Colic falls off. Will watch the England-Brazil game in La Gaffe bar, Antibes, Friday, then come home for weekend to mow the lawn. Does this plan find your approval Longjohn? It will be tough for me, I know. Obviously I would have declined the trips and stayed in UK, if weather fx was better

Bag carrier

Now you don't want to go straining yourself carrying that heavy bag with trunks, shorts and tee shirt, would of course offer to help but much too busy battening down the hatches, clearing the storm drains, repositioning those extra fenders that I recently acquired at minimal cost etc etc. Still v sorry to hear that you'll have to slum it for the second half of the week after being on board a 34m jobby! <G>

Does cutting the lawn now involve sitting on a red tractor with headlights?

and then there is my crew stuck somewhere Portland way 'coz they didn't like the 3 metre waves yesterday, I ask you, and there I was looking forward to picking the boat up in Gib. on Monday.

So does that mean that if I scoot down to Weymouth I could chivvy up said crew and work passage down to Gib. Could also arrange competent crew, not concerned with 3 metre wavelets in huge GB. <G>

Ooh you don't want to go down to the Leopard at present, the ice maker's bust so no proper G&T's.

Though maybe TCM's trained new Capt to pop down to the shops and bring you back a couple of cubes.

Re: Arnesons

New capt is called Arne Jansson (couldn't resist the name) and does indeed go get ice cubes, puts them in the icemaker, but then nobody quite sure if icemaker works again or not...

Re: Stowaway

See if there is an Aleutian in Weymouth please, can't get them on the phone at the moment, therefore they either have the phone switched off, or they have sunk or they are 30m NW of Guernsey. I reckon phone switched off is favourite.

My TWO icemakers were going like the clappers at the weekend.

Re: icemakers

The two things going like the clappers might be engines!? Anyway, settem to medium which should allow for them being engines, generators or aircon plants and always stay to the right hand side of the channel unless another GB64 coming in opp direction in which case givem TWO blasts of both horns and stay in the middle but be ready to jump off either side?
