It seems that Thanet District Council has finally realised that they have to dredge the entrance to Ramsgate harbour if they are to continue to make huge profits from visiting yotties. Apparently, they are asking for "tenders" at the end of this month to do the work sometime this year!!!!!!
Whether this work will actually take place is another matter, but on a happier note the current visitors pontoons (in the West Gully) are fecked and need over-hauling so maybe taken out of service, plus they are going to install electric meters to help their customers (currently the electric is included in the over-night price). There is of course an increse the the over-night stay price for 2010.
I was born in Ramsgate so I'm naturally biased towards the place ~ but feck me after 10+ years of Labour controlled local government they still don't understand ~ do they????
