.....today it was planned that I go to the boat to apply antifoul. I rise from my Silent Night cosseted slumber, open the plantation shutters to find the world wrapped in a coat of snow.
What the hell is happening to this weather. You just shouldn't get snow in Surrey in March. I think I'm going to give up sailing and take up polar exploring!

I was on topsides prep and painting. Not a chance. Instead I think I'm going to have a go at my re-wiring. Joy of a MAB is there is always somthing to do other than go sailing :)

I could still go, but knowing the local highways dept they have scattered not one grain of grit! I've plenty to do and not enough free time to do it in. At this rate I'll be craning in 2 days before the crane out date. I'm going to relist my hobbies and add Boatbuildedr to the list inplace of sailing/boating........

Planned to tow our boat out of storage and take her over to Anglesey this weekend.

Rang up to check. They had 8 inches of snow yesterday and it has been snowing all night and this morning. Nothing is moving in their area. Looks like I will go back into hibernation for at least another week.

The last time I anti fouled our yacht in the uk was at the end of march 1999 at gosport boatyard. It snowed.

Boat stays in all year, so will wait for a nice week, sail off somewhere to dry out and pressure wash and scrub, then for the first time in seven years put on some a/f in readiness to go down to Spain, hopefully for about five maybe six months :)

It's always the same, a few years ago I had to put the antifoul tin in a bucket of hot water so we could gt it to pour.

This year I may havbe been rained on when I fitted the anodes but at least it's done.

Bloody English woofters.... a bit of snow and the whole place grinds to a halt

Reading the article below, I'd say you haggis bashers are worse off. At least we've paid for our electricity.

The Scottish government says that 18,000 properties remain without power, with blocked roads, high winds and blizzards hampering the repair effort.

In other developments across the UK:

In Scotland, police advised against travelling by road in Dumfries and Galloway because conditions were "extremely dangerous", and also urged motorists to avoid parts of rural Angus
Residents of Arran have been warned that they may be without power for up to three days, prompting Scottish Hydro to send a portable generator to the island

Meanwhile the guffs switched off Sellafield Nuclear Power Station .... ;)
Never mind, we'll just send a bit more of that Hydro generated stuff down

Don't worry, they stopped generating power there about thirty years ago. The place just stores waste now.

Boat is 1 hour away on a good day. No snow here but told there is there!

Antifouling done - remember that nice Tuesday a couple of weeks ago - and I was booked to go back into water on Monday - that has been put back to Thursday now so still 'should' be afloat at Easter.

I remember that day very very clearly. I spent the day doing easy jobs while deciding whether to get my hull blasted. I concluded I'd just slap on another coat of AF.....which I was going to do that weekend......shi*te sh*te weather ever since. :(

Upside, the campervan is finally getting some attention :)

Well I got a it of varnishing done in the warm and then jumped in the car to bimble my way to Southampton to buy and engine for the tender.........
