Sailing south through the Rays'n on Wednesday, we were just approaching the first of the new (to me) safe water marks, planning to ask the trusty Yeoman to turn it into a waypoint, when a crane barge that had been loitering with intent in the vicinity charged up, grabbed it and started to tow it away! Don't you hate it when that happens?

I suspect they just re-positioned it a little further to the east. It certainly wasn't far from its original position when we sailed north again today. I expect Tillergirl will know. Whatever - the two safe water marks are welcome aids to the passage through that channel.

The place was alive with seals and we also spotted a porpoise heading purposefully down the Ray.

Your kind anticipation of me is, I regret, misplaced on this occasion!:o I'll email Mark the harbour master and ask. I suspect it is more likely to be putting it back in position. Mark was a little worried that the one that dries might not last. The plan was for them to be on the 000.59.500E meridian.
