If I could change the boat in the cradle picture to mine with some one else working on her I would be very happy, though possibly bored !! Possibly need 2 boats. One to work on and the other to sail.

Anyone care to donate to my my sailing fund ?

Russ,

Just to keep the recored straight, I am a wooden boat sailor at heart.

Here's a couple of photo's of my 'Winkle Brig', 'Peanuts', sailing on the river Blackwater. The builder, Pete Ellis is at the helm. Built 1979. She now sails on the Lakes!!!!!

I started sailing on 'Advent', a Gaff Cutter based in Maldon on the Blackwater.

The In law's owned 'Marie Louise of Leigh', a Leigh-on-Sea cockle boat, built locally and had her for 30 odd years.

Although I enjoy my plastic boats aswell, my heart is still with the wooden ones. It's just time factor for up keep nowadays.

Twas cruel, but i took it with a smile. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

how do you sleep.....

Who may sleep? I'm barred from the marital bed for a salutory period - in the 'sin bin' - for a misdemeanor too embarrassing to mention on 'ere.

I spend my days endlessly wandering from forum to forum, the proverbial 'albatross' round my neck, warning all who will listen......

"There was an ancient mariner, and he stoppeth one of three...."

And if you really get the most 'bang for your buck' out of small boats, there's a market there, for that, too. And a whole lot of fun.....
