In preparation for our impending adventure on the "other river" decided to test out the new boats upriver capabilities..
The good news. The domestic batteries vs the fridge and the lights/telly held up well.
The calorifier heats the water hot after a couple of hours at low speed and.....
......the boat tacks perfectly well in straight line on tickover around 3.5 knots.
Not sure where all this codswallop about planing boats being difficult to handle at low speeds comes from.
The bad .
Would like to meet the dimwit who designed the covers it leaks.
Have got to cobble up drip strip of some sort.
Just squeezed under Aylesford Bridge with all the junk left up but have to lower the arch in order to get back under .
See you all soon. :)
No room outside the Malta Inn. me hearties,

Ps Which genius decided to redevelop the river side in mid summer in the most popular boating months, rendering it impossble to moor up in the town centre
.

Glad you had a successful trip :)
Must have been tight on depth if you got under the bridge with the arch up though?

All that space taken up by two poxy narrowboats:disgust:
All that space taken up by two BIG poxy narrowboats

There was a constant stream of boats wandering past the moorings turning round and heading off back upstream, must have been a considerable loss of income.
Had we been able to get outside,we were going in for drink.
:disgust:

We had the best part of two whole feet as we went under the bridge.
