Hi everyone, sorry to do this to you all yet again :) I am attempting to raise a little cash for the amazing organisation that is the RNLI. I have always had an affinity with the sea whether as a kid living on the coast putting cod lines out or bobbing about a couple of miles off shore fishing or as today as a keen boat owner. The RNLI has been there all that time to help assure my and my families safety and no doubt the same can be said for yourself. please consider donating, I need to hit a £100 target to be able to participate in a 40k ride on the 1st October, hope you can help me get there but fully understand if that isn't possible considering the amazing generosity of the forum during the recent(ish) YBW Cycle Ride from Penton Hook to Ocean Village i.e. there's only so many time one can ask individuals for support :)

Here's a link to my Just Giving page should you wish to help. https://www.justgiving.com/Gary-Pea..._content=Gary-Pearson6&utm_campaign=pfp-share

Many Thanks

Might join you for this Gary. Where is the ride?

It's a closed shop this one I'm afraid Paul being held at Eton Dorney Lake http://www.dorneylake.co.uk/ and a repeat of this event last year http://www.fundraising.co.uk/2014/0...oyees-fundraise-charities-big-bold-challenge/

Great company to work for if giving something back is your thing considering the support they gave me when organising our event and setting up events such as this (and many more throughout the year) :encouragement:

Hope it goes well. Just a short sprint for you at 40k Gary. Are you in town on Tuesday next week?

Rick and Gill, really sorry, I hadn't noticed your kind donation until now, thanks you very much for your contribution and hope you have a fun time during your 'fish supper' event

The ride is tomorrow. looks like the weather gods are going to shine on us :encouragement:

Thanks Paul, didn't do too badly. 40k in 1hr 23 mins with a nasty head wind down the long straight (wind is always the wrong way isn't it ;) ) 90 riders took part in this particular event, I came 3rd in my category (over 50's) and 7th overall which was quite pleasing considering the number of young'uns on the ride.

Now the next challenge... just signed up for the Prudential London 100 mile ride in July 2016 with some bloody big lumps on the route.. going to be seriously hard this time but worth it as I'll be doing the ride for Alzheimer's disease which we've had some experience of in close relatives and the ride date is my mother's birthday who has been very poorly of late so it'll make it something special to do for her too
