OG has just fallen in love.

Nice boat, shame it's too long LOA :-)

Whats 3ft on a very dark night and you've just bought the mooring master half a dozen 1664s and assured him that you have already run your tape measure over the boat so no need for him to trouble himself by walking to your mooring at the far end of very long pontoon ?:)

OG,

I'd like to point out that anyone buying a boat in Greece (VAT paid or not) MAY be presented with a serious fine if the 2009 (IIRC) one off tax wasn't paid. Amazingly this tax (according to LOA) may have been 2.5K euro back then but with the fines could have escalated to 15-20K by now.
That was the case up to 2yrs ago, i'm not sure if they still ask for it, or if you can get away with it.

Anyway, IF you or someone else wants to get a boat from down here, I can point you to an office in Athens doing all the paperwork check and the amazing admin for the change of ownership. NOT related, used them after recommendations for MiToS and was/am very pleased with their work.

cheers

Its that very tangle of paperwork and rules that would put me off immediately.

Have always had an unnatural penchant for boats of that era such as the Tremlett.
Pure simple design, totally different from the collapsed merange "Château de Versailles" confections prevalent today.:)

Quit wasting time with the angst. Life is too short. Take Vas up on his offer of a lawyer and concentrate on giving the boat a good going over. Greece really is the home of older under used boats so it may be a bargain, and running it in Greece will work out at around 60% of what you're paying in the UK, including three return flights for two per annum. Trust me I do the sums very year.
