Once upon a time every 17th boat we saw was called Whimbrel. That led to the rusty crew attempting to come up with the most obscure port of registry. I think the winner was "Whimbrel of Newport Pagnell Services".

Sorry can't agree at all. Look at the M.A.R.S. site and search by boat name. Only 79 of those "Second Wind"s have radios! Now try it for "Calypso". It finds the first 200 entries and then gives up.

I was tempted to call the latest 'Titanic II' just for the crassness and vulgarity of it. Got vetoed by everyone, probably illegal as well, so have gone for the boring 'Moon Dancer'.

In Europe my subjective number one is Carpe Diem. They are everywhere. In a Greek marina this season we saw three of them, almost adjacent. Free Spirit probably comes next, we have probably seen at least a dozen this year. In Holland ???? Dolphin (Dolfijn) is a strong contender, there were three at Hellevoetsluis when we lived there. A blue one, a white one and one just plain Dolphin.

NCP Sir Donald Gosling's boat is called 'Leander'. Leander used to be a class of Frigate and name of one of the class. His boat is probably bigger too!
