Off to West India at the crack of Lunchtime. A pix or two.

Weather appears to be getting better over weekend.Bad news is the District and Circle is out of action,so visits will be to wherever DLR goes.
Hope to go to Greenwich Maritime Museum, have not been for ages...think its still free and apparently there are one or two pubs in the area as well.

Will be paying a visit, probably on Saturday. Tate on list as well.
Plans all usually all fall to bits sometime around lunchtime after a decent dinner and a glass of tapwater

Rather good weekend, trip round was a bit bumpy and we passed group of boats on their way to see us from Hampton Court.Appeared to be bit of a problem with one boat which was being towed by the Sheerness LB.
Learned later no major drama and was down to a steering malfunction.
We contrived to leave a bit late and frantic scramble to get to lock on time, they did wait for our slowest boat to arrive, which was further delayed ........had been pulled over for speeding.:)
Really helpful and friendly lock staff and unlike St Kats no stressful getting in lock drama,a spy later reported that St Kats not full at all and that The Oyster Yot sales bods were slightly less than busy..Ho Hum.
Loads of dock wall to choose from and plenty of power and water points.RCC nicked all the best spots (ie sunny ones) leaving the MYC yotties to fight among themselves over what was left when they arrived on Saturday after an 8 hour trek round from Medway which involved lots of rafting out but they are of course used to that sort of thing.
GRUB.
Heard loads of reports about "that" floating Chinese restuarant.
It was expensive for what you get and service fell to bits halfway through,we asked for bills to be keep separate, which they forgot about with the resulting chaos of splitting bill afterwards.
Would we go back,Yes but only if no other restaurant was open within 10 miles.:).
Went for a drink in The Gun.If you are thinking of eating there they will do a Seagull egg soft boiled to taste for only £6.50 EACH.
You can imagine the clientel. It was packed and we had to stand for our tipple.
We all locked out together at 7am on Monday,in brilliant sunshine, both yotties and stinkers with the compulsory amount of piss taking between the opposing sides.
Still trying to work out how they fit a hot tub or 50" Plasma on board those itty bitty boats :) ?

Really do hope the Thames is getting back to its old self after the awful winter,we are coming round in August and do not want to meet a sucession of grumpy forumites.
Talking about Oyster Yachts a real monster beauty came steaming past us and left us in its dust.
It got told off later at Gravesend for wandering into the main shipping channel, was told to get out, stay out and stick to small vessel passage.

Hope your boat is behaving !
One of my cooling thermostats has been misbehaving for ages, refusing to fully open on the run to Burnham and therefore running a bit warm .
It decided to jam fully open. and run cold back from West India .
Down to boat tonight to change the blimming thing. Not big job just fiddly, stat s buried inside heat exchanger requiring draining down of anti freeze.
None of the other boats had any issues.
Caught a brief glimpse of dolphins in Sea Reach plus the odd seal.
West India at night.

West India looks very impressive at night! It must have been fantastic seeing Dolphins, I didn't realise they ventured this far around the coast.
Always something isn't there! Silly place for a thermostat, but not quite as bad as my car which necessitates a front end strip and a £500.00 bill. Hope you get it sorted easily, anyway.

All old issues are fixed on the boat, but it has, of course, developed a new problem. Hopefully may be able to sort that out in the next few days!

Are you and the rest of RCC coming to the ATYC Rally ? If so, perhaps we could work on a certain Oxford Ditch member with a cute little boat (TM) to attend...... :)
