Just been on to the Ofcom site to validate and print off my ships radio license and have frankly given up.

Any body else experienced difficulty?

Firstly tried to follow the instructions to print license that re direct to "blank page"

I tried to change my address and although it accepted on my personal details it instructs to go to each individual license and amend through the edit button, but with no address field it is a bit difficult.
Not to be detered I press the contact us button to be given a choice of snail mail or phone but no e-mail facility.

As a "communications" agency you would think their web site would be on the button and user freindly

Thanks, done that, e-mail away.

Amongst other jobs I design and host a few web sites and without doubt Ofcom is the worst "Professional" site I have ever come across

Have you tried phoning? Talk about entering the labyrinth!

ps Just tried again and, having ignored all the "Select one of the following" stuff, eventually got through to a real person, a very helpful lady who dealt with my query.

If you are having difficulty downloading and printing your licence then read "What to do if you have problems downloading your licence" in the "Help and guidance" section accessible from the home page. The problems are associated with the security settings in the browser. IE6 is usually OK but Microsoft's default settings in IE7 do not allow file downloads.

The software for the online applications is pretty rotten but I have sussed it all out up until now including changing details on the licences themselves. However the procedure to change ones address has me beaten. It really is a pile of dogs do as far as that is concerned. If it is possible then it is amazingly complex. Quite ridiculous!

Write to them!!!

<u>Don't even think about trying to change your address</u>

After playing with it this morning I went back to it this evening and discovered that I had in fact succeeded in changing my address in "My details" but not on the licences them themselves (just changed the house number, no more)

So i set about trying to change it back.. I now have an address in Milton Keynes instead of Sevenoaks. How the hell did that happen. And I cant change it from that.

Not a pile of dogs do at all. A whacking great heap of elephant sh i t
