Strong rumour has it that Charles and Camilla have already wed in secret, fed up with all the constitutional nonsense.

The word is that following a recent foxhunt, where Charles was awarded the kill of the day (he decided to make a "Davy Crockett" style hat from the fox's pelt) he secretly whisked Camilla off to an undisclosed place near Manchester for an informal ceremony with friends, family, dignatories and other hangers-on.

The wedding, apparently, was at an undisclosed United Reform church (they'll marry anyone) in Ardwick and the reception was held at the "Wheel-tappers and Shunters Social Club" near Bury.

On arrival at the reception, Charles walked in sporting his new found hat, to gasps and guffaws around the long table (not least from the Chief of Police).

As he sat down next to his Mum, she hissed..."what the hell are you doing wearing that thing on your head??"

But Mum - you told me to wear it!!

No I didn't!!

Yes you did!! - When I told you that the wedding and reception were to be in Manchester, I distinctly heard you say..."Where the Fox Hat"
