Help me....

After recently buying a boat of late '70s vintage, which is a bit of an AWB, with a dose of MAB thrown in, I am increasingly finding it difficult to throw any boaty or potentially boaty things away.

This demonstrated itself most recently in refusing to thrown away a tent, thinking that the canvas would make terrific cupboard tidies with a bit of effort and a sewing machine.

I now gaze longingly at tins of varnish, and keep any stainless fixture or fixings regardless of age....

I am very concerned that I might sell my boat, and buy something old and wooden.

What should I do to cure this sickness?

I even took some stuff off the guy next door. Stainless steel chain plates he removed. Never like to see a good bit of steel go to waste. The weight of all the junk will probably sink me one day.

You will be telling me you have taken up Rope and Knotwork together with carving Neil. You must be spending too much time in the lee of those Thames Barges up there.

With my track record, carving would be somewhat too dangerous....

I currently have a full complement of fingers and thumbs.....

But I do tie a lovely knot.....

I had a bit of a result yesterday... I got 24m of material to make new cushion covers from eBay for £24.....so I'm getting into sewing..... SWMBO has promised not to laugh....
