Cruising downstream from 3 weeks upstream passing through Chertsey Meads, a Freeman 26 is anchored mid stream. Naturally I offer my assistance assuming a breakdown. No they say, we are having lunch!!!!!.
Advice given but the information clearly went on one ear,accelerated and shot out of the other one. Just couldn't believe it.

For those of us who don't know the area, what was wrong with what they were doing? Or do you just not anchor in the river?

Must admit I would be surprised to find someone anchored mid canal
