odd Volvo Penta cigar shaped antenna

Just curious
but have now seen a couple of boats, (both Sunseekers) with an odd cigar shaped antenna atop with the words Volvo Penta on the side,
I guess its something to do with the engine management but am curious, Some sort of comms link back to Volvo base maybe?

anyone know what there for?

It's a GPS compass/heading sensor

All of the above is correct and it's actually two GPS sensors under the bodywork, to get maximum input to the DPS system. Always mounted in the length direction of the boat.
