Odd feeling- my \'ex\' for sale on ebay

I've just noticed my previous boat is up for auction on ebay- made me miss her terribly! Good to have a nose at the photos, seeing what alterations the next owners have made- very weird seeing one of my old socks still stuffed over the danbouy flag tho'. Hope she goes to a good home...

Eek! Must be a bit niffy when on a run... Should bring the value down a good ten grand I would think!

Why not make a bid for it - the sock, I mean, not the boat?? You could always use it for polishing the toe-rail - especially while the boat is heeling!!

Probly at home tied around an enormous bundle of other odd socks with no home!
Anyway looks like someone might get a real bargain boat- if they don't fear the 'O' word that is! (It's the Macwester 26 if anyone is nosy...)

Just typed MacWester 26 into E Bay no result should I have typed in 'sock' and then seen the listing relating to a boat?

Hmm, hard to say-I don't want to influence the sale in any way really; but I had a good time in her, including channel crossings and my first ever solo sail from Brighton to IOW- all made easier by the very old but working useful 'extras' like radar, tiller pilot and Yeoman- and then there's the 3-4 yr old liferaft and other extras you wouldn't normally get on a boat this size/age/price.
We bought her at the top end of typical prices, and sold for less; they have obviously done more work on her; anybody buying would obviously be advised to get a survey and be aware of typical issues with boats of this age....

Oh if anyone wants the sock I'll sell it's other half for a bargain tenner /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does anyone know what the boat behind your ex-boat in one of the pictures is - called Fresh Winds? Looks interesting.

She looks lovely, how long ago did you sell her? Should start a site called fenders-reunited, find your first love.
