Hi KW Pete,
Here are a few photos to show how the drive was mounted in my boat.(Pete PM'd me for details of how to go about this in his boat).
Note that the pull/push forces are taken at the pivot clamp alone.
The Cable drive unit (MDR40) is supported in elongated holes to allow snaking during big excursions of the rudder and bar (quadrant).
