I've gawn and bought 10 bottles of Millers Octane Booster Plus on a whim..

Millers Octane Plus

well actually, I got the 10 bottles because the guy sold them to me for 8 quid for the lot and I can never resist a bargain:o

thinking of using them in the boat this year to see if it makes a difference... I've a 5l Mercruiser MPT fitted.... am I likely to do damage?

just the same as putting super unleaded in i believe.
(but its up to you.!)
run it in mi car before with out any prob's.

Gary, I don't think n octane booster will do any harm to your mill. Chemists on here might give a bit more detail on the impact. Might be worth a call to Barras, the Merc petrol importers?

used to have a 50+ yr old sports car & I used to run it on super unleaded and miller octane boaster, I reckon that gave me near on 100 octane rating which was like the old 5 star petrol (if you remember that...obviously I don't I'm far to young)...& the car loved it, ran so much better... so I cannot believe there would be any issue with you running that in your V8..

Exactly why do you feel the need to use octane booster in your boat engine?

Do you have a problem with knocking then? I suspect it won't give you any more power in your small block V8. I thought these engines were a bit 'primitive' to be able to tell the difference between octane ratings and adjust the timing accordingly.

Probably the best thing you can do is resell it on eBay, you might even make some money.
