It has been established by the Cruising Association's Honorary Local Representative (HLR), John Clayton, that the scare about there being asbestos in the free water supply at Gouvia Marina Corfu was based upon a mistranslation of the Greek word "Asbestia". In fact, this word means "Limescale" or "Calcium" NOT Asbestos as reported here by other contributors earlier this year.
I would guess that the yacht running triple filters on pier G will be greatly relieved to hear this.
The water is though brackish and not recommended for drinking even after boiling.
