Oceanair Blinds - Maintenance

I and SWMBO have both been trying to remove the Oceanair Blinds - pleated on wires - (circa 2005 vintage) to clean and maintain. We are struggling and fear we may cause damage. Is there a technique to unclipping, or is it really brute force? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a company who could clean and service at a reasonable cost? All suggestions (polite ones only please) appreciated.
