hi, and welcome to the Obvious Uk Weather Forecast. I'm smiling nicley as i deliver this, and if on TV I am obviously aged under forty if male, or under thirty if female.
If we look at the picture of today over the UK, you'll be able to se what sort of day we've experienced already, obviously. Yeah, I know this bit isn't actually a forecast, it's actually the same sort of thing that 7-year-olds do for a school project, recording the weather. But did you know that frinstance Troon (500 miles from everyone on average) had 3 inches of rain, hm? Whereas The isle of wight was sunniest, cos it's further south and miles from Troon. Interesting eh? Well, a bit interesting, sort of.
In fact, this month has been the third most middling month on record, and i can now continue with the forecast.
First of all, Scotland. It'll be colder than other parts of the uk here, cos it's further north isn't it. Yes. Especially on tops of mountains, obviously. But in the glens there might be mist which wil linger, cos there's nowehere for it to go, just the same as the last 200million years.
Towards the west of scotland and northwest England, the west of wales and parts of Cornwall, there'll be outbreaks of rain here and there, so if it does rain, you must be "here and there" and not "somewhere else".
These showers could move acros the rest of the country, perhaps, but perhaps not, and anyway it'll rain in the east a bit less than in the west cos the clouds will be emptier, of course.
However these patches of rain will die out through the day if they start in the morning, or allternatively they might begin in the afternoon and die out after that, a few hours, you know the sort of thing. Fairly obvious really seeing as most flippin UK rainfall does indeed "die out" dues to prevailing winds usually from SE winter and summer. Hence it's not often or indeed ever that it rains solid blam blam blam all day and all night for days on end like somewhere that has monsoons.
In the rest of the united kingdom we can expect a typical day for the this time of year. Of course. Not too hot, and not too cold. So, don't go expecting weeks of blue sky, cos we're next to a sodding great ocean, over here, so it might rain during yer barbecue or wedding etc, and it might not, i can't tell and neither can anyone else for sure. That's right, a maritime climate, with billions of tons of water nearby.
But for the same reason, it wil hardly ever freeze to -20 cos of the very same large ocean full of water some of which is connected to bits under the equator hence colls in the summer and warms in winter.
So if it does freeze, it won't usually be for very long, except in 1963 which wasn't exactly russian winter anyway- it was just that your car (or your dad's car) was crap and central heating hardly invented and esp not double glazing or fleecy warm clothes.
Temperature wise, around normal for the time of year, with outlying areas a little colder, on account of not being near several thousand other heated buildings like in towns and cities, obviously.
To summarise - sunshine and showers. Colder in the north, due to the lower angle of the sun, a little warmer in the south but not as warm as the Sahara. Outlook for the rest of the week - Much the Same.
