yip , one in loch Aline (half way up sound of mull) , ardfern , croabh haven , Tobermory , that's them all

Sorted that for you. It depends on what you want, neither Loch Aline nor Tobermory would claim to be "Marinas", but they do have pontoons. At least two sites in Loch Creran, 10 miles to the north, have moorings.

A few pontoons and moorings does not a marina make!

Definitions on the west coast differ greatly from those in the soft Clyde and points south. You have to decide which of the 'marina services' are important to you and go from there. One of the main reasons for going north / west is to get away from the yachty marina enviromnents and associated crowds.

I suspect that by 'marina' the OP may be looking for somewhere to keep his boat on a pontoon, which rules out the visitors pontoons at Tob. and Loch Aline, however the other places mentioned all have long term berths with boats that sit alongside all summer, there is also a resident marina at Bellanoch but movement is governed by the opening hours at Crinan sea lock and the tides outside. Must be good, Chris keeps his boat there.

Does anyone know of any marinas in and around Oban other than Dunstaffange and the one on Kerrera ?

The majority of marinas and moorings are listed here:-

I noticed that you are a new member to this forum, welcome. So what do you think of the choice of Marinas then? If you have a few in mind and need some inside information, just ask on here, plenty have experience.
