For a real blow-out I can unreservedly recommend Ee-Usk on the North Pier. Excellent seafood, good wine list, helpful and competent staff. Fair warning - expect £ 35 per head.

Yes been in there too. It's good but not as classy as the fish place.
Also recommended - Crafty Kitchen at Ardfern - only open Fri and Sat evenings (every lunchtime) and take your own wine, but nice food, friendly service, and they don't charge you corkage.
Galley of Lorne has changed hands this year and would need to pass on that one. Some friends stayed there in the Spring and were charged full price even tho' the place was literally a building site. Bar food not as good as it used to be. Let's hope they get it settled down OK.
