Oar post cap thingey

Morning all.

What’s the cap that goes on the oar post, on an inflatable dinghy, called? I need one and I’m concerned, it being missing, it might puncture the dinghy :ambivalence:

Do you mean the grommet that holds the oar in place on a thole pin
 
I assume he means the round plastic knob that screws onto the top of an upright stainless rod on some types of dinghy rowlock. The oars for these have holes right through, which the rod passes through, then the knob keeps the oar in place.

They don’t have a specific name. Searching for inflatable dinghy parts or rowlock parts, perhaps with the brand of your dinghy, might turn something up. Or measure the thread and find something else that will fit...

I've just had a quick look at Ron Hale who are usually good for odd inflatable bits, and indeed they have these:
