Having contributed a while ago to a thread re lack of tell-tale exhaust water from a Honda 8, thought I'd let you know that it was recently serviced (300 euros !) during which all the bits that could be taken off the block were. All channels were totally blocked with salt, but interestingly, it was very hard with fine crystal structure needing a lot of scraping and soaking where possible in hot water. It was obviously too far gone for a casual treatment but from now on I'm going to try putting a big bucket around the prop and inlet and let it suck in fresh water from a hose once every few outings (can't remove it from the boat - too heavy and afloat). So, if you haven't got a tell-tale this might be why....hope this helps someone.
