In an attempt to service my stern gland as part of preventive maintainance, i have discovered that there is a Teflon or nylon type bushing round the axle that tightens up via the flange and 2 screws on top, it still looks as though there is much left of the nylon bushing and since the axle was not leaking, can i just remount it or must i change the nylon bushing? If yes, has anyone seen this particular model before and can identify it so that I can search the internet as to where it can be purchased?

Similarly, the black tube bellow ,connecting the brass Stern seal unit to the Boat with 2 the metal clamps at each end , it looks as if it is just an armoured tube piece as in the type used between fuel Filling cap to tank itself, since it’s not just rubber,is it also a part that must be replaced?

Alternatively, should I just remove everything and replace with a Volvo or PSS dripless type?
