Islanders on Guernsey's east coast were treated to a spectacular sight on Tuesday.

The French coastguard vessel, the Abeille Liberte, was in the Little Russel on a routine patrol of the Channel when her crew decided to show off what she could do.

The ship is based in Cherbourg and is a salvage tug but also has the ability to shoot jets of water high into the air to fight fires at sea.
