Apologies for the lapse in weekly services. Was away in Scotland (in time for the storm!) and returned to Mersea (just after the surge!) and then out to foreign climes where it is currently 33 degrees! I can't update my website from the laptop and anyway the power gets cut off with remarkable frequency but there is nothing of any great significance at the moment. TH have put AIS on some more buoys - SW Goodwin and Newarp for example and by now the Pontoons should be back at Sun Pier at Chatham. I'll check next monday from here t'internet permitting and post anything of significance and then update all three missing weeks on the web site the following week (which will be Week 1 of 2014 in UKHO terms).

In the meantime I am spending fairly boring evenings in a cell like guest house room so can I have lots of East Coast posts with photographs please. In moments of boredom I remember this is paying for the new sails - or was it the holiday for my wife. Can't quite remember.

By the way the ECF calender is excellent.

That's all right then. Instead of a sail number I going to have 'I've bl**dy earnt these'

Just had an email/NtM from Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners to say the leading lights are temporarily extinguished. Where I am in West Africa they are only interested when the lights are on - which ain't often!
