Finally I have proper IT. Wot an 'orrid two weeks. Do you know how difficult it is to spend loads money? But grateful to XO-Gladys, I have a new machine and everything loaded back in place.

Week 30

1. ADMIRALTY CHARTS TO BE PUBLISHED 12 AUGUST 2021 - Chart 2693 - England - East Coast -
Approaches to Felixstowe, Harwich and Ipswich with the Rivers Stour, Orwell and Deben. 1:25,000
A Continuation of River Stour. 1:25,000, B Ipswich. 1:10,000, C Continuation of River Deben. 1:25,000 - Includes significant safety-related information as follows: changes to depths from the latest Trinity House surveys.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. Mooring buoys. Pontoon. - One reduction of depth, removal of a pontoon and a ships mooring and insertion of one new ships mooring. All off Gravesend and Shoremead.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoyage - These changes for the designation of buoys in the Outer Crouch are a supplementary Notice to that issued in Week 25 vide 2783(P) for Chart 1975. So the information remains as before. The image shows the new designations on page: Notices to Mariners (based on Imray's chart) and can be downloaded.
4 - ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Two slight reduction of depth in the main river channel of the River Thames at Barking Creek.
5 - ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - A ‘cluster’ of 4 slight reductions of depth in the DW channel of the Princes Channel between the Princes Inner and the Shivering Sands South. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft and not the best place for us to be!

Week 29

1. ADMIRALTY CHARTS TO BE PUBLISHED 05 AUGUST 2021 - New Edition of ADMIRALTY Leisure Folio -
SC5606 Thames Estuary - Ramsgate to Canvey Island. 12th Edition - This includes the Medway, all the way to Maidstone. Earlier Ediitons of SC5606 used to go up the Thames but the description suggests it stops now at Canvey! Full list of the Folios can be found in the above quoted web page.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. Drying heights. - 15 changes of depth in the Wash: 2 in the Gat Channel, 1 in the Boston Deep, 3 (substantial) in the Parlour Channel, 3 off Gibraltar Point, I off the South Sunk Sand and 5 in The Bays. 4 amended chartlets on the usual above quoted web page.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. -
Three slight reductions of depth all adjacent to the White Hart SHB off Grays, River Thames. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - 6 slight reductions of depth off Holehaven Point, Sea Reach, River Thames. Unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wrecks. - Change of depth over a wreck close to the Oaze special buoy. At over 14m, unlikely to hinder leisure craft.

Local

I shall just add a short description of each. If you want to see the full details of any or each, go to: Notices to Mariners and then click on the 'Local Authorities NtM'

1. WOOLWICH REACH - ENVIRONMENT AGENCY - THAMES BARRIER CLOSURES for November through to April 22.
Dates and times are in the Notice
2. RIVER MEDWAY – Approaches to Sheerness - Garrison Point – SD.10 – Temporary Mooring - a temporary mooring will be laid off of Sheerness No.10 berth, image of location and photo are enclosed.
3. River Medway – Chatham Reach - Obstruction – Sun Pier - Peel Ports London Medway have been notified of an unknown obstruction, off of Sun Pier in Chatham Reach. The depth above the obstruction at chart datum is approx. 0.7m, mariners transiting past Sun Pier should navigate with extreme caution. Chartlet is available on the web page.
4. Diving Operations at Great Yarmouth Power Station River Intake - survey and maintenance works will be conducted on the power station river intakes between berths 5C and 6 (Port Marks 91 – 96) within the Great Yarmouth River Port between 9th August and 13th August 2021. The works will include underwater diving operations.
5. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Notification of Quayside Works – Berth 17 - Quayside works will be ongoing at Berth 17 until October 2021. The works are in support of the Great Yarmouth Flood Defence project.
Activity will include deployment of a Long reach excavator, clearing debris from the base of the quay wall, supported by a Dive team to assist in the removal of debris. The works will utilise two Barges that will moor at near to Berth 17 for the duration of the project.
6. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - New Lifting Bridge – Construction update 1 - marine construction work on the new lifting bridge project has significantly progressed. The Western Bascule pit has been substantively completed and the new permanent infrastructure in the river alters the pre-existing Tidal flows. This change will affect all Vessels navigating in the vicinity. More details of works described in the full notice.
7. King’s Lynn Harbour - River Great Ouse. - International Hanseatic Water ski events - Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August 2021. - International water ski races and other waterborne events are planned to be held in King’s Lynn Harbour on Saturday 31st July 2021 over the 1157 hrs high water and on Sunday 1st August 2021 over the 1248 hrs high water. The full course will extend from the Cut pylons to south of the Boal Quay. There will be turn buoys placed in the river for the duration of the races & each race should last upto 30 minutes. Safety boats will maintain position to the north and south of the course and will advise boat owners accordingly. More details available.
8. The Wash Ports – River Nene - Walker Beacon - is currently off station, work is underway to replace this beacon as soon as practically possible. Beacon Walker Yellow Beacon FlY (2) 6s N52,50.090 E000,12.909
9. Kentish Stour - a new chartlet is available for the Estuary for download. Go to the above quoted web page for a download link.

A local warning :eek:, a keel was dropped in the centre of Salcott Creek, West Mersea recently.. The keel has a line remaining attached that floats that is just one metre of the surface at LW neaps. The precise location is 51.46.192N, 000.53.547E. Obviously plans to recover the keel are being progressed. Cancelled - the keel is recovered and removed.

And that is that.

Oh. PS. I can now finish off the Spitway survey. Should be done in a day or so. Preliminary views are that the best water is still east of the line of SWBs
